Implications
Send acknowledgments after every chunk rather than batches of five; this forces the adversary back into the 2.5-second perturbation cadence, which degrades call quality below usability and is therefore unlikely to be deployed against civilian traffic.
Any voice-channel transport should interleave control messages frequently enough that targeted ACK-disruption attacks require perceptible call-quality degradation as a side effect.
